HorseJournal — a calm logbook for you and your horse.

HorseJournal is a software product that lets riders and horse enthusiasts systematically log their riding sessions, horse care, health and training progress. Available since 2026 as a web application; a native iOS app is in development.

What it is

Anyone who rides regularly or cares for a horse knows that the details matter: how often the horse worked this week, how it responded to a new exercise, when the farrier is due back, whether a dosage needs adjusting. Most riders track this information in a scatter of places today — phone notes, paper diaries, a chat group with the stable manager.

HorseJournal brings it together in one place. No social-media veneer, no gamification, no advertising. A logbook that stays put, with the ability to scroll through your history and notice patterns that would otherwise be lost.

Who it is for

HorseJournal is built for riders who own a horse or ride a fixed horse, for stable managers who track multiple horses, and for instructors who want structure in a student's progression. The tool is deliberately designed to work in situations where multiple people care for the same horse — owner plus groom plus instructor.

Platform

HorseJournal is available today as a web application and works on both desktop and mobile browsers. A native iOS app is in active development — that lets you log a session quickly offline right after untacking, even when the stable Wi-Fi isn't cooperating. The Apple Developer Program enrollment for releasing that app is the reason for the current upgrade of this website.
